Opalescence – entangling the mind

Marble Has Life

Limestone was formed millions of years ago on the bottom of seabeds from the shells of tiny animals.

The shells crystallized into limestone, then some of the areas of ocean underwent extreme pressure and heat. The result was metamorphic rock - marble. Rock that came from life.

The swirls of marble are endlessly fascinating.

White marble, with occasional black swirls, can be found in southern Italy. The type called carrara was prized by sculptors for its workability. Michelangelo's David is an excellent example of marble that was once life, then brought back to a new life.
