The Monte Cristo was built in North Vancouver. Known as a “barque”, she was owned by Ron C. Craig. Following the style of sailing ships of old, she held three masts and, in 1970, was renamed Endeavour II in honour of Capt. James Cook. She was skippered by Jeff Berry, who safely took her across the Pacific to become the featured ship during Australia’s bicentenary celebrations of the founding of Australia by Capt. Cook.
This book is being written by George Opacic and Ron Craig Jr. to document the remarkable adventures of the ship and her young crew.
